3 mobile: Cancelled contract

Hello all,

On the 1st of March 2009 I gave 3 mobile 30 days notice that I was canceling my 2 phones with them, after 45 minutes of them trying to bully me to stay with them, they finally succumbed and I thought I was free of their contract.

I was told my contract was to finish the last day of March, and I would get a final bill on the 2nd of April.

I have recently received a "welcome pack" from them with a new phone number and a new account number thanking me for joining 3. They have also sent me the first 2 bills of my new contract. They have also sent me 3 sim cards (which have remained un used).

What I want to know is, If I just cancel my direct debit what will be the likely outcome?

I have tried to ring them up, when it asks to enter the phone number you are referring to it states that the number is not recognized.

Also on my bill, there is a bank giro form, as opposed to my previous direct debit.

Are you sure that these new sims are not pay as you go? Three sent me a PAYG Sim when I cancelled a contract with them along with my final bill for the old contract.

If it is a new contract, send it all back recorded delivery with a letter explaining that you never asked for any of this and that you wont be paying. Keep a copy of everything.
