A. Waiting for DFD to fail us and send the certificate. Decided against asking for it in case they do to us as they have to Zoe.
B. Got holiday booked and don't want the OR to cancel it thinking that we shouldn't go when we really need this. A fair few people here have had holidays booked before BR and havetakne them with no problem. There's no monetary benefir to the OR by asking you to cancel, so they won't, it's not like they could get anything back on your insurance. TBH, I doubt very much they would question how you could afford it while in an IVA as holidays are an allowabe expense in BR
c. Don't want to lose the car which is on Hp till Feb when we can hand it back without trouble. If you've finished paying for it the OR will seize it as an asset if it's over £2-3K and replace it with a cheaper car if it's needed for work, so you could lose it anyway. At the end of the day it's only a car.
d. OH's shares are due in Feb next year so will cash in to get a new banger. If you want to keep these share you will either have go BR now and hope you're discharged before next Feb, or wait until after next Feb and justify what you spent the share money on.
.
I think your reasons for holding out are pretty weak TBH, none of the things you have stated are unsurmountable, and would not be looked on in any particular way by the OR.
At the end of the day what is more important, your health and happiness, or losing the car early.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Wow, fasinating reading. So these people just got BRU/BRO's? nothing else?0

Looks like it, some seem on the verge of criminal intent. My first one for instance the 14 year one from Regents park;)Better to be poor than a slave to wealth

This one is pretty bad: http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/databases/ddirector/viewbrobrudetailsmore.asp?courtnumber=0751472008
But generally speaking they will only do something nasty like this to you if you have really taken the proverbial like these people did.
Don't worry Spender - as long as you don't try and hide anything, all will be fineSealed Pot Number 018 🎄2009..£950.50 🎄2010..£256 🎄 2011..£526 🎄2012..£548.80 🎄2013...£758.88🎄2014...£510 🎄2015...£604.78 🎄2016...£704.50 🎄2017...£475 🎄2018...£1979.12 🎄2019...£408.88🎄2020...£1200.63...🎄2021…£588 🎄2022 £672… 🎄2023 £3,783.90 🎄2024…£3,882.57🎄20250 -
There doesn't seem to be a lot of logic to these BRU/BRO - like one person can do one thing and get 2 years whilst another can do the same and get 6 years.
Regarding holidays - I haven't had one since 2004 because I'm always on the look out for some work - it wouldn't be my priority especially if a BRU is a possibility. Nice if you can afford it but I don't think that the OR would see it as a necessity, even if you decide to do this in February next year they will probe your past expenditure. Not meant to sound harsh but I would be very careful now.0
