Hi All,
I am looking to make 2 Rustic fire surrounds for my open fire - i was going to use sleepers (two uprights, one hoizontal on the top) but the ones i was given were treated with tar and creasote - not good for internal use as its seeped into the wood.
Does anyone know where I can get untreated sleepers or similar that have that 'old' look to them? Also what would be the best way to fix them together? i.e. i thought large bolts but would not really help the 'old' look im trying to achieve.
Any help would be great as the ones on ebay etc tend to go for £180 plus! Also If anyone knows where the ebayers who make these get their untreated
sleepers i would be grateful if you could let me know.
