Hi. I am pretty new to Forums, so hope I'm doing this right. Have looked all through the insurance forums for some help and advice on business insurance, though all seems to be aimed at personal insurances. Has anybody out there got advice on where to start looking, as my current insurerer's premium seems very high. A search engine for business insurance would be good. Many thanks in advance.

What kind of business do you require insurance for? What classes of insurance? What level of sum insured (no need to provide exact figures)? Who are you currently insured with?
A broker will be your best bet, but for small businesses you can try direct operators including Premierline direct, Direct Line for business, More than for business, and many many more.
Small business insurance is possibly the most competitive area of commercial insurance and many insurers will bite your arm off for new business at the moment.
Price searching you could try:

Seriously, Google is a marvellous thing!0 -
Hi dogbot. Thanks for coming back to me. I will try the search engine you suggest first off and see how that goes. Much appreciated.0

Have just looked at the ms link. They just reffer you to simply business who are a broker. Not neccessarily a problem just worth saying. Definatly try premier line and some other brokers as well.
Do a google for your business area + insurance - e.g. "catering insurance" or "shop insurance" and you will find some schemes for specific package policies for these small businesses.0 -
What is your business? Certain insurers like certain things. Most of the major firms, Axa, RSA, NU etc are very keen to insure shops, offices, small manufacturers etc.
Anything with a turnover above £1m or higher risk (contractors, asbestos, construction, plastics, woodworkers etc) really needs specialist broker advice.0 -
Hi guys,
I'd like to recommend Utmost Insurance their website is utmostinsurance.co.uk and their number is 01302 873877. They sorted me out a better price on my business insurance than I had last year, and also through their affinity group have generated extra revenue for me that more than covered the insurance policy cost!
you can't say fairer than that.0 -

Hi. Just a quick update. After much shopping around, have gone with Premierline Direct, one of the companies suggested. Tried doing it all online, but resorted to calling them, and they were very helpful and friendly. Main thing, they saved me about £400. Many thanks for all your advice. :j0
