Hi - I'm new so please be nice
Just wanted some advice on closing a savings account - its an old flexible saver account with abbey - interest rate is something pathetic 0.01% I think?
I don't have much money in there as most of my savings goes in my ISA but like to have a bit aside for emergencys so I don't have to take money out of ISA -anyway i've opened a savings account with a better rate today but want to close the abbey one just so as not to have accounts everywhere really.
My question is as the interest on it is paid yearly in May would I loose the interest if I closed it now?
(I realise it will only be about 30p if i'm lucky but still....)
Can't be bothered calling their 'help' line  to find out - suspect i will get a much quicker and more sensible answer here!

When closing you will get any interest pro rata from the date of last interest payment to the day before you closed it.0
