Instant hot apple drink

DH has just been told to quit the coffee and tea (even decaf). We used to really like a drink we got in the US and canada called hot apple cider, a spicy non-acoholic drink, like mulled apple juice. I have never found any we like over here , they are all so sweet, and anyway I want to be more OS and make my own.
So bit of a long shot, but anyone got any ideas how to make up a batch of instant mix of my own? I dont really want to get into mulling juice with spices everytime, as its meant to be a quick coffee/tea replacement
Thanks

not a recipe but I'd guess maybe cook fresh apple juice down with the spices you fancy into infuse it and reduce to a sryup and use like cordial but add hot water....no idea how you'd got about making a powdered one like the instant ones you get in whittards etcPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Have you tried Turkish apple tea?
We dont find it as sweet as say Whittards.
I make it from instant for convenience but Ive found a recipe HERE for it but I havent tried making it this way."Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye" - Miss Piggy0 -
Do you have any Turkish shops near you? Hot apple tea is very popular in Turkey, and many Turkish-run convenience stores stock instant mix. Failing that, I'd try somewhere that supplies coffee shops - I know that AMT do a spiced cider drink so they may be prepared to sell you the mix?2015 comp wins - £370.25

Wouldn't jelling be a problem if you boiled it down? Worth a go, nice spicy jelly would get used up with a bit of pork if it didn't work.
Alternatively, Heath and Heather do an apple and cinnamon infusion, I haven't tried it but I used to drink the Twinings version (which I don't think they make any more unfortunately) which was very nice. You could up the 'apple' taste by adding juice to the infusion as you would milk to black tea.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

no suggestions but I loved apple cider when we lived in the states. So, so nice hot and cold.
My mum had to teach me never to ask for cider once we came back to the UK though! (was 10 at the time...)0 -
The turkish tea sounds great , I have a turkish friend so I shall ask her if i can buy it locally or if not see if she'll get me some next time she goes home.
Unfortunately adding something to black tea wont work as its the tea that has to go.
thanks for all the suggestions0 -
I dont know how this would taste but I've been reading some threads on a different forum on dehydrating. If you have a dehydrator (or very low temp oven) you could dry some apple slices. Once completely dry grind them in a food processor/grinder into a powder, then use that powder as an instant mix and add hot water.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

OH likes the Turkish apple tea too, and the brand we get is Hazer Baba (I think that's how it's spelt lol). It's really widely available, we saw some yesterday in the 'food' bit of a local garden centre lol, and I'm sure I've seen it in Waitrose, although that may have been at Christmas.
Or it's not apple, but what about a fruit cordial? Bottle green and Belvior(?) do lovely spiced berry ones and they're really good hot.0
