Beware of SWIFT INSURANCE

Swift are running new ads to tempt customers. They are only interested in getting new accounts but will not settle claims in any reasonable amount of time. Do not be taken in by them I was with them for three years, fully comp, and have a tiny claim as a driver dropped his load in front of me causing my car to be a write off. I told the police and got an incident number. I reported it the same day to the insurance company. They sent a garage out the next day who was supposed to bring me a replacement vehicle. They came out and decided the car was a write off. they did not leave the replacement car. They told me I would have a decision in the next three days - three weeks later I am still waiting. I have telephoned, emailed, written letters to them and now the financial ombudsman. there are extenuating circumstances for me to have a vehicle as my mother is seriously ill and needs to have me collect medication and do her shopping. We live in a rural area with no pulic transport. I have to get taxis now. This is ridiculous as we are talking a total of £500 max.!!! They are unresponsive and refuse to give me telephone details of their underwriters, superiors or anyone with a "name" in the company. Do not use them
Has anyone else had bad experiences with SWIFT insurance 1 vote

Try ringing the other Insurers direct, explain you need a vehicle, they will probably arrange a hire vehicle for you at their expense (Providing they accept they are at fault). It will save a lot of hassle especially as it could take Swift (Thats such an oxymoran) a fair amout longer to pay you out0

I can only agree, insured with swift a couple of years ago, had the misfortune to need to claim, it was an attempted break in. Didn't claim for any contents in the car simply claimed for the damage to the door (screwdriver had been used to try and prise the lock out so metal around the lock was damaged as was the lock). I ended up in a massive argument with them after weeks because they'd "referred it to their fraud department" - how could it be fraud someone shoved a screwdriver through the lock and that's all I'm claiming for. They backed down in the end and I got an apology but it took weeks, have never and will never use them again.0

I'm really sorry but I couldn't read most of it as I was laughing at the driver "dropping his load" in front of you.
I know I'm too old to find this funny but I couldn't help myself0 -
Are we talking about a company called Swift - or Swiftcover? (might be worth clarifying)Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.0
