Hi Guys,
This week had trouble logging onto broadband internet with talktalk.
Last night talktalk technical sorted out the re-setting of my Netgear wireless router on my laptop, which my laptop is now working fine..
My question is, my other half has her own laptop which she also used before on wireless with the same router, but could not connect to the internet last night?
Does her laptop have to be re-set ?
If so, what is the procedure to do so?
Kind Regards

Has had no replies, can anyone recommend a computer/internet forum board that i can ask the question, cheers
Now got problem with router not connecting to the internet, my netgear internet connection keeps flashing :mad:0 -
For the laptop, if the router's been reset, the wep/wpa password will probably have been reset, so whatever it is, you'll need to use that on the second laptop.
For the router, try unplugging it and plugging it back in, see if it syncs again. Failing that, it's a case of looking in the router config/stats pages and seeing if it says why it's not connected. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
As WG says, it's probably just the encryption key that's changed. Do you remember firing up your browser and entering 192.168.X.X, (where the X's represent another number, obviously:)), when you did it. If so go back to that page on your working laptop and see what the key is set to and change the other LT to that setting.Hi Guys,

Assuming it was working when you first did it what have you done since? Have you, for example, tried to repeat the steps the tech support guy gave and maybe missed one or two?Now got problem with router not connecting to the internet, my netgear internet connection keeps flashing :mad:0 -

At home tnite, I will check the other laptops settings...
The router is a netgear 834g v3.
When i was speaking to the talktalk guy the other day, he said the internet connection kept starting and stopping
Told me to insert router in main bt socket which i did and still same problem with light keeps flashing.
Tday, i have managed to find a talk talk filter which i will swop over and see if that cures the problem..
Thanks :T0 -

on page 90 there's a diagnostic utility. What does that say?
I think that's the correct router, if not just search for the right one in google, i.e. 'netgear 834g V3 manual' or whatever0
