Sorry for causing all the confusion with the irish links!

I did actualy start the post with "FOR ALL THOSE USING THE IRISH SITE" and then i listed the links and put IRISH again at the bottom just incase.

    But sorry again!

It's not your fault - we all rushed to enter without reading it properly! :o

Hip Hip Hoorah to Darragh - I had a nice email from him (out of the blue) asking if all my points had been credited. I'd given up all hope on Cyberslotz, Aer Lingus and Snapfish points (and my free piggys) - maybe I'll get them after all.
This happened to me a long time ago. I was asked if I was still waiting for eBay and Lightspeed points. I replied that I was. I didn't get the points, though. Never heard anything again.

I think it is really an attempt to marry up user names on here with those on PB. But maybe I'm paranoid!! :)

Hi droopsnout - where have you been?
I live in hope of the points, as I have sent so many e-mails to pigsback.

I don't believe its a conspiracy - Darragh was able to link MSE and pigsback ids when he gave us those points for our suggestions for his away day. In fact, it was one of those early e-mails he responded to today.

I'm reading the thread several times a day, but I keep thinking that we've been here before. One moment PB's going down the pan. Then Darragh posts and suddenly some folks are blowing him kisses and PB's the best thing since Eve bumped into Adam. Then the mood changes again ...

So not much to contribute by me!! Newer members of the thread will, I'm sure, feel the same in less than a year's time.

(For what it's worth, I'd just point out that PB have acquired some quite big names as advertisers since Christmas, so I really don't think they're about to go bust. They seem to do pretty well for special occasions, too. Remember the extra pages for St Valentine's Day? And now Mother's Day).

And I hope you get 'em!! :)

I seem to remember that we had to email Darragh with our MSE IDs and our PB IDs.

And on an associated point, did anyone ever hear anything about the PB MSE User Group?? I know that a couple of time-served regulars on here never did.

No, Darragh is extremely good with the blarney, and PB as a site is getting better all the time (even if there are slow periods occasionally on the click-through side). But I don't think that we should ever forget that he is working for PB, and sometimes, the pressures of work can produce inconsistencies.

By the way, I smiled when I read his latest ... He couldn't keep up with all the queries placed recently, so he would start afresh by keeping up with the new ones posted after his message. Now where might we have heard that before?

Sorry if this seems cynical to some, but it's the fruit of experience. IMHO, it would be better if Darragh did not post in a way that raises hope. If the poor guy doesn't have time to answer every query on here (and I'm sure he doesn't!!) then maybe it would be better if we all did as he asks anyway: email queries to curly@pigsback.com and let them get on with it.

I made one false claim for points myself: I made an Amazon purchase and claimed the points, before realising that I had ordered non-book items, so no points were on offer. I emailed Curly to ask where the points were, and got no reply. It was my fault. I got no reply. Probably better to offer no reply than to send a response saying it's your own silly fault - or words to that effect.

Now I realise that someone will soon post saying that the lovely Darragh has just phoned them, and how nice he was, etc., etc., just to prove me wrong. But just bear in mind that for every person he contacts personally, there are plenty, I suspect, who don't get that privilege!! But a couple of mentions on here of the personal touch, and ol' droopsnout's just a sad old twit and Darragh's got more fans that a Chinese fan factory. ;)

So now you see why I've been quiet ...

But don't give Darragh a hard time. I guess he's doing the best he can in the time available!

Sorry to sound dumb but does the order have to be all books then?? - I ordered a couple of kids toys in with my book order and didn't realise there was a rule on this! (that will teach me to read the T&Cs in future!!)

Saw this offer on pigsback. I have been off line for about a month so not sure if its an old one. Just wondered if anybody knew if it is worth doing a bit of a coward when it comes to gambling sites. Paddy power scared the life out of me.

Not sure, Rachie. If it were a just world, you'd get your points on the book content of your order.

BTW, from the way some people have written about Amazon points recently, it would seem that they expect the points to be credited automatically. Unless something has changed recently, you have to send PB an email with your order details.

But there are frequent users of Amazon out there who will answer your query better than I.
