Has anyone seen the Napster offer (through the clickthrough)? 200 points for signing up and there's a free 7-day trial... Hmm, what does everyone think?
It's one of those things where you sign up to and give your credit card details and you can cancel before the end of the 7-day trial. Don't do it if you think you'll forget to cancel. Unless you want Napster that is.

Interestingly, I X-ed out of the sign up screen before I had given my credit card details, (you sign up once you have already downloaded the trial), and then went back later to do it again, and it said my username was taken. I signed in as a registered user instead and it seemed prepared to let me use Napster Lite as though I had already given my card details! I haven't tried to download anything yet, but it looks as though I could if I wanted to.

Points are credited within 10 working days, so it may be just a straight confirmation from Napster that you've downloaded the program and registered, which it seems I have. (Of course if I want to carry on using the service after the 7 days is up, I'll need to pay.)

Thanks for the reply, Marigold. :) I don't really want Napster, so would just be doing it for the points. Will think about it ;)

I did it for Rpoints (don't think I can do it again, ho hum  ). It was fine to cancel and all of that.

Napster light is a different kind of package. I think that once you have that you can upgrade your account to Napster (and then cancel it!) but if you just stick with napster light you might not be able to get the points (check the T&Cs!). There is no subscription fee for napster light (I might be remembering this wrong tho), which I guess would be why it came up.

    HTH! :T

Thanks, but there's nothing in the T&Cs on the offer page that refers to this. It just says:

    * Offer open to Pigsback.com members only
    * Please allow 10 days for your PiggyPoints to be credited
    * Full terms and conditions available from napster.co.uk
    * This offer expires on Wednesday, May 31, 2006

The Napster T&Cs naturally don't mention what you do and don't get Piggypoints for.

I've emailed Pigsback about it via their 'contact us' link. I hope they won't be too long in replying. I'll post here when I have any more info.
