Hi Guys
Just wanted you all to be aware that the advert on TV re £9.75 for multiroom is misleading if you have HD.
We have SKY HD and saw the ad and as we had an additional HD Box went for a multiroom as the advert states that you get your existing package for £9.75. What they don't tell you is that if your existing package is HD then you have to pay an additional £9.75 - in total £19.50.
When my hubbie called to request multiroom on our existing package they didn't inform him of this.
When we got the letter with the charges we queried them and they agreed they were wrong and would adjust the monies taken when the DD was due. Guess what - they didn't.
So hubbie back on phone only to be told then that it was an additional £9.75. So hubbie cancelled it. There was a bit of to and fro about 12 month minimum contract but hubbie stated he felt he had missold the package and the advert on tv is misleading so they agreed to it - eventually.

Sky literature is very clear that multiroom costs extra, you clearly didnt read it.0 -
I don't think you read the OP properly.
They said it's £9.75 extra for multiroom, and they were charged £19.50 - double because of it being HD, which wasn't explained to them.0 -

and its very clear there is an extra charge for HD too.
Its the OP who hasnt been reading properly.0 -
If you signed up from the website then it is slightly clearer but on the TV Ad it doesn't say this at anytime including the written get out clauses - also when my husband called to request multiroom for the additional HD box he wasn't told that it would be £19.50 or asked whether he wanted to pay a further £9.75 HD charge on top.
The website is also geared towards you needing an additonal box and installation - which we didn't so you can't sign up this way.
Regardless it doesn't excuse the misleading advert on the TV or excuse the sales person not asking us which option we want.
I hope some people find this information useful.0 -
What they don't tell you is that if your existing package is HD then you have to pay an additional £9.75 - in total £19.50.
So you're saying that you have to pay £9.75 for the privilege of viewing what you've already paid for, for the standard channels, then pay for the HD package (i.e. versions of what you've already paid twice for already) for each HD box?
Sky's greed never fails to astound me!0 -
yep that's right!
I don't think they should be allowed to say it's whatever your subscription is because clearly it isn't there is an additional charge.
Tempted to complain to the advertising authority.0 -
I have complained to the Advertising Authority so I hope this prompts SKY to mention the additional fee.0

Hang on, surely the whole point of multiroom is that it mirrors your standard subscription.
So you're saying that you have to pay £9.75 for the privilege of viewing what you've already paid for, for the standard channels, then pay for the HD package (i.e. versions of what you've already paid twice for already) for each HD box?

Madness isnt it?? What gets me about sky is they seem to charge me two months in advance, I had to pay upfront for march and april in february yet when I am two days late with the next bill they cut me off even though I have already paid for the services!! Can they do this?? xx2012 Wins - Danepak Fridge Magnet, £20 Just Eat Voucher, iTunes Song Download, Yellow Toaster and Kettle, Thorntons Bunny, 6 Months Gym Membership, £250 Multipower Products, 3 X Dalepak Vouchers, 10 minute sunbed session, Lucozade Sport, 2 X BMI Flights, Android Zeemote,0 -
