Ruby are you using money off codes or free delivery codes or extra points?? It can work out cheaper and more cost effective on many levels

    a) you don't spend on impulse buys
    B) you save money on getting to and from supermarket
    C) you use free deliver/money off/extra points so come out on top

bet he doesn't even know about cashback and codes etc

When I can afford to again, I'm gonna start using the free delivery codes. Then we'll find out whether it is actually delivery costs he has a problem with, or whether it goes deeper and thinks I'm just being lazy by not going shopping.

He knows about cashback for things, he's the one who introduced me to quidco.

Anyway, what's it got to to do with him? It's not as if he's paying for it, or as if I am living off him. That's what gets my goat the most, people lecturing me about what I should have done as if they have a say. Fair enough, parents get a say coz they have lent me money recently, but he and my older sister don't.

I did tell him that, Jinky, he said it's about will power, not buying things that you weren't going to buy in the first place.

Its funny SC I was just thinking the same..in fact when Pepe said Italy is one of those places that you have to do it yourself to get a bargain and not go package it sent me into a panic:eek:

Its amazing how times change isn't it. When I was 18 I went off by myself around the world, meeting up with friends only in US and Auss and booked flight with no accomodation sorted for when I arrived. I didn't worry in the slightess and had a ball. Having spent far too many years living in the comfort zone you forget that you CAN do these things. DH is useless when it comes to holiday and so I guess It would all be down to me and that is what puts me off. I remember going to paris and he didn't want to try and get a metro ticket (he couldn't speak french) so we ended up walking everywhere

times are changing I feel....I need to discover the old me :p

    Hello everybody-peeps :D

Motherhood still rocks except that I don't have so much time to chat...

Nathan is doing well. He's put on about 2.5lbs in the last 2 weeks so my milk is obviously the business...:p

BR - I use codes from this site and have always covered the delivery charge; in fact last week I got 12.50 off my order which was a total result. Tell him you are learning how to manage your weaknesses and delivery works for you at the moment. To be honest, if you think about it the delivery charge isn't much more than getting a bus/taxi/driving and you don't risk injuring yourself lugging bags around;)

Maz - as Erin is quite active (swimming, cycling, netball) she could do her agility/athletic badge (can't remember the exact name) and how about a cookery one, or house keeping...

Bookie - you could suggest introducing a money management badge...

He's most definitely not. He's always buying cookies that he doesn't need and he is AWFUL for wasting food. He's a bit of a sell by date freak, if something is on it's sell by date, he'll chuck it, unless I happen to be there, then he'll give it to me. He wraps everything in tinfoil and then forgets about it. The amount of times I've inheireted unopened ham and scotch eggs, it's ridiculous. I will bring that up with him next time he moans about delivery charges.
