Cancelling top up tv & setanta?

O/H got a top up box with the free subscription (it ends May I think) and had a Top Up tv package.
He seems to think that you need to give 3 months notice to end the Setanta so that they don't automatically continue with it and that 1 month is required for the top up

Can any one advise the best way to ensure he (of me as I seem to become his social secretary when it suits) does get these cancelled?

And then I don't get the blame if it goes pear shaped:D

He never watched the downloads and even selecting the 'best' it left very little that hadn't been seen before

There have been numerous posts on trying to stop Sentanta from taking your money after you set up a D D with them, and most seem to have a lot of trouble in stopping them.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I know i did read some on here a while ago, and it is really bothering me that he (that it will no doubt become we) will have trouble and somehow it will end up my fault

I would check your contract. Check on line if you have missplaced it. Write to Setanta recorded delivery and keep a copy of your letter. Then cancel direct debit authorisation.

I hope the DD is not on a credit card?

To my knowledge the Setnta sport is free until 24th may, though i think there is a monthly Top Up Package currently being paid.

I think this wwas set up over phone and I know a credit card wouldn't have been used though it is possible it could have been switch I'm going to check on that.

I haven't found a contract and all documents relating to this have been kept together

I know I am a little vague on this, but I didn't want Top Up at all so kept out of it, serve me right though now as I seem to be the one that has to sort it!

Thanks for all your help so far
