i dont know if it would apply in your case but after our bad survey the EA was going to ask the vendor to cover the costs of the drainage survey and the asbestos survey and to check the problem with the structure of the extension that were flagged as they were things that would be brought up by the next buyer if we pulled out.. may be worth a shot?0

Thanks for the replies and good ideas on negotiating (not had the results yet) but based on the experiences of your replies, I want to budget for some of these mentioned possibilities.
Charliee or anybody know how much an asbestos survey cost approximately and did you find this person yourself to carry out the survey ... or via the EA contact links?
If there has been asbestos then what ball park figure would you say is needed to cover this repair?Find a job you like and you add five days to every week0 -
the surveyor said he knew someone and the estate agent had a contact to.. i thnk it is a couple of hundred for the asbestos survey... i may be wrong, we pulled out of the house.. bad karma...0
