Suggestions for a holiday to Dubai?

Hi,

I'm planning a holiday to Dubai over easter time but I've never been there before so don't know where to start. Not sure whether I should be looking for package holidays or arranging everything separately and who to book it with. It will be basically 5 adults for 4 nights. Have checked out the major websites e.g. thomsons but none of them seem to have dubai/UAE as a destination.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hi get yourself on the trip advisor forum for dubai pronto! They are a nice bunch and will help you out no end! You could try a company could southtravels for accomadation and look for flights seperately, or try destinology for a package.Last year, I flew with emirates when i went. For your group, you might want to book the emirates marina apartments, they are spacious and self catering and have good facilities.Again, check out trip advisor.Enjoy your holiday, you'll have a great time:D

Im not sure if you will be able to get Dubai on a package with the normal tour operaters like Thomson and TC
. Emirates are really the main carriers although Brit Airways ,Quantas and a few others go in to Dubai as well. Have a look at there sites and get there price for flights. They will have hotels on there site as well and you should be able to get a rough idea of price and there are plenty of hotels to choose from. I am sure someone will come along and give you good rec for hotels or check trip advisor. Shop around online for hotels to get the cheapest price.

if prices are similar go emirates. they blow 99% of other carriers out of the water.
I've been to Dubai 6 times. Normally stop in the Novotel at the World trade center. Not really a touristy hotel but it's central and if I was taking a holiday would definitely look at stopping there

Hi - as well as previous suggestions www.netflights.co.uk are doing good packages at the moment. However, April is an expensive month for Dubai and you might have trouble getting reasonably priced hotels. The beach hotels will be very expensive so you would probably need to be based in the city area, where Golden Sands apartments seem to be very popular. However, you then have the cost of taxis and paying to go on most of the beaches. For flights start off looking at www.kayak.co.uk and www.momondo.com
Why have you chosen Dubai in particular?
I love it and am going back for the third time in June, but now that sterling is so bad it has made it very expensive for food, drink and shopping.
June to September are more reasonable for hotel prices but the heat puts a lot of people off.
    Any more queries please ask.

    Jackie

Following on from this flights are expensive as well - around £700 direct or £350 with one stop - perhaps go another time??

Go to Abu Dhabi instead, far better place, I lived there for 15 years, so do know what I am:T talking about, Dubai is one big traffic jam, and far more expensive than AD.

The le meridien in dubai is doing a 40% off sale, think there are other meridien hotels included, the royal meridien at the beach is also excellent (haven't looked to see if it's included).
The offer is on the website
