AOL / Talk Talk Problem

Hi all,
I have my broadband with AOL and also my landline call package (line rental with BT).
When I signed up, I had to take a more expensive deal as AOL couldnt provide a landline on my exchange.
Now, my exchange is unbundled and AOL are offering landline services in the area.
I called AOL and asked now that they are offering this service, can I have my landline migrated across, to save me having to pay BT too.
They are saying no, as I am in a contract. I told them I knew that, and didnt want out of the contract, only that I wanted them to provide me with the service advertised when I signed up, and now on offer to people in my area.
They say they wont. In fact, they wont even enter me into a newer, longer contract.
Does anyone think I have cause to complain and know where I should direct my complaints ?

Sounds like you spoke to 'a call centre monkey' of which, unfortunately, there are quite a few.
Call again, you'll almost certainly get someone with more knowledge and common sense.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
