Tiling for bathroom

Hi ! just got somebody local who i saw at yell.com. He quoted me the following :
wall area approximately 8 sqm and floor area around 2.2 sqm
remove wallpaper, remove tiles appr. 60 cm x 100 cm, remove radiator, lift sink and toilet, plyboard, adhesive, grout, and i forgot how u call to even out the height of the bathroom floor and outside the bathroom's floor.
Carpet's been removed already. All these for £425, and will take him 3 days.
Is this fair enough ? I find this expensive considering that this does not cover the whole room. I have left the side of the wall with the bath and shower untouched. Also, i see from some of the posts that normal charge is around £25-£30 per sqm. I am in stockport, cheshire area.
thanks for your comments...

It's a bargain especially as it looks as though all materials are included. (I'm assuiming He's re fiting the suite and not just leaving it all out).
Day one - remove suite, strip tiles, strip wallpaper, board floor maybe prepare for tiling or make a start.
Day two - tile walls, tile floor
Day three - grout, clean re fit suite supply and fit threshold.
£25-£35 sq/m is tiling labour only, the rest of the work will take him longer than the tiling.
In the days when I was doing this (a few years ago now) I was charging £200 a day + materials for this kind of fit. I am in Surrey though.0 -
thanks. i will supply the tiles myself. i would only get ceramic tiles which are not too large nor too small. he said he will use ready mix adhesive (not the powdered one).0

very cheap
Check to see if his work is up to standard
As a proffesional bathroom/kitchen fitter myself i would charge 3 times that amount!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Low end porice doesn't necessarily mean low end quality. Nor does a high price necessarily mean a quality job either.
£ 1,200 for that litle job!!! :rotfl:

i have to agree with andyhop and rosebery,Thats some cheap quote for the amount of work stated. i dont think i could get anywhere near that price if i tried got to earn a living.0

mats, mapei grout and adhesive, new plumbing fittings would easily take a £150 chunk out the budget
Waste material disposal £65+vat
If self levelling screed is required thats another £30 per bagHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

I had an excellent tiler (Hardworking and very attentive to detail) from MIddleton way do a bathroom for me in Altrincham - did labour only for £150 a day letting me help him do it to both save cost and give me more experience. Took 3 days to do a reasonable size bathroom in 600*300 travertine stone tiles.
Therefore, I'd say its pretty cheap too.
Is it a fixed price quote or an indication, ie when things get delayed, dont go right with removal and refit of sanitary ware etc, is it going to get more expensive.0
