Seat Ibiza
I have a 2002 Seat Ibiza 3 door 1.2, I have had problems with this car and yesterday I had a really bad experience with it, the window on the passenger side failed, I took it to the garage and on inspection it transpired that the battery cable from the postive had corroded - in the middle not at the end, the guy at the garage showed it to me and said it was because the cable had been placed down the side and had been rubbing against metal.
He told me the vehicle was VOR, (vehicle off road), until part replaced as it was a hazzard and the car could go up in flames... very scary as I travel with my two kids in the back.
So what started off as a window problem turned into something more serious, the car is just out of warranty by 3 months.... and has had many electrical problems in the past, in and out of the garage more times than I like to count... can anyone offer me any advice, I have asked the garage to keep the worn cable for me as evidence.... I am not a happy bunny
Thanks in advance to any offers or experiences you may have had....

I doubt this woudl be a fire risk. At worst, you are likely to get a short circuit which would blow a fuse.If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

Phone SEAT head office on 0500 222 222 (I think, off the top of my head) and tell them about your problems. If all the servicing and repair of your previous electrical faults have been done at a SEAT franchise then they may well help you out.
Remember to not start vocally expressing how annoyed you are straight away or else they won't be bothered to help you out.0 -
