CDA ovens: any good?

Our integrated single electric oven exploded  (a serious fault with the self cleaning mechanism) and we need a replacement for under £300 - fan oven , with grill and timer but don't need anything too fancy, just that cooks well and evenly and is easy to keep clean. Appliances Direct has suggested CDA which I've never heard of.
The model they suggested has pyroclean/self cleaning or you can get one a bit cheaper that doesn't self clean. SV210 @ £278.
I'm nervous of self cleaning ovens since ours broke. Other possibility is an electrolux or Zanussi.
If anyone has any info or advice it would be much appreciated as I need to order by the end of the week.

CDA are ok for 3 or 4 years use, although, don't touch their self-cleaning system, it's not very good at all.
You could probablly get a half decent Bosch for 300 quid though...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I think we may go for a german, ja. They just have a peace of mind factor. Although my de Dietrich (presumably german?) nearly set the flat on fire....0

Hi,
I would agree with mwilletts, don't touch a pyrolytic oven from a cheaper manufacturer. Pyrolytic means it heats up to 500 degrees, at that temperature you want to make sure the product has been designed in the best possible way to stand these temperatures. Its all about peice of mind.
You can get a new style basic Neff oven for £340 ish. This has got to be the best value budget oven on the market. This would have their circotherm system which has got to be virtually the most efficient fan oven system around.0 -
Hi - have CDA dishwasher (which is rebadged Whirlpool - and excellent. Have a CDA built in oven/microwave combination and its dire... and I mean dire.0

CDA are made all over Europe as far as I know none of them are made in the uk, not really impressed with any of their stuff either, none of their ranges compare to rangemaster and the built in stuff I've seen is generally rebranded "cheap makes".0 -

Research and research I am afraid. Find what you want from your appliances first and then set your budget. Then narrow it down to brands.
Your idea of mid range may not be everyones - for instance much of the Bosch stuff is mid range type equipment but many would see it as top end
Fianlly use google shopping etc to find cheapest prices for the models you want and don't forget your local independent retailers who are likely to want your business so may do a deal if buying multi appliances0
