    You are quite tedious really.

The real world is not like your little tedious CAG fantasy site, the OP if they take your advice will end up TV-less for even longer. Nothing else.
  • That's right, keep on repeating it often enough, maybe someone with a QI below 2 figures will end up believing you. :D

Its not wrong, she can spend ages fighting Makro or have her TV collected today and fixed by the manufacturer.

I wonder if you are such a consumer warrior when its you who has to have the inconvenience, and cost to do what you suggest.

As it was bought from Makro who are a trade seller it would be a commercial contract and therefore there arent as many rights as a normal consumer.

    Spot on!

OP, I appreciate it is frustrating being without a tv (although I can recommend several good books to read instead!), but LG have fulfilled their obligation to you.
    Gone ... or have I?

Fair enough, I didn't know that they were a B2B.

I work for a white goods manufacturer. We often get customers passed through from retailers who are dismayed to find they have been put through to the manufacturer.
The way I see it is that we are the 'designated repair agent' for the retailer. Customers should always inform the retailer of the problem with the item but please don't panic if passed on to manufacturer.
  • Thank you all for your advice. I took Bookwarm advice and contaced Makro direct again before letting Lg come and take the tv away (which after the initial conversation with them would have took up to 5 days for collection, then repair time)

The manager at Makro was very sympathetic to the situation and offered a replacement (if needed) until an engineer booked through them could come to try and fix tv at home....... if it needs to go way then we can have a loan tv until its fixed. If unfixable they will replace equiv value of tv or refund....

I think sometimes when situations happen, we, us as concumers, get very angry, and rightly so sometimes, but dont always try calm approaches.

An engineer is booked to come out Tuesday, not too worried as we have loan tv if we need it, and hopefully it can be repaired in the home....

thank you all again, advice from Trading Standards was to go direct to the retailer
