Just wanted to pipe up and say how wonderful everyday minerals stuff is. It's all I've used for about 2 years and my skin loves it!0

My samples arrived but as usual the colours were not quite right, superb quality though
Rather than waste them I took the lid of my existing loose powder tipped in the 3 sample pot colours & mixed
Gave me a gorgeous shade,so rather than dwelling in my make up drawer they have been used
Then as I was about to put the empty sample pots in the bin
I spied an eyeshadow with a cracked lid,(I stopped putting in my bag for fear of spillage )so scrapped it out & put it in one of the sample pots, nice screw lid so I can now put i back in my make up bag
Have kept the other two pots im sure I will find a use for them
I know it's sad but I felt quite proud at my lack of wasteage
I think I may have MSEitus lol"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.0 -
Hi, do you apply them using make up brushes? I have a make up brush but it's quite big (used it with the Avon bronzing pearls size pot!)
I guess it's messy to put on another way? Any tips gratefully received! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I havn't tried mine yet but was going to tip a little bit onto a tissue or something and then sweep it up with a big brush...sure I read that in a magazine somewhere!
For anyone who's still wondering about the size vs price of these samples then I'd say go for it. As a freebie (and that's what it essentially is, you are just paying postage) then it's great. If you're ordering just the samples then obviously postage is quite pricey, but worth it to get the shade right if you're thinking of buying a full size one.
If you order anything else (I will be, I'm totally won over) then you can add a free kit in again...then it certainly is good value.
Also, I just checked and you can make all your little base tester pots the same colour, so if you knew the colour you wanted this would work out even better value.
Fast delivery, nicely packaged, environmentally-aware company...just a shame it can't be UK based0 -

A big brush is great - wash your Avon brush with shampoo or shower gel, rinse well and blot with towelling, dry it on its side - dry well!
I use mini Christmas pudding tubs (the ones you can put in the microwave, you can use a cup or anything like that) to tip a sparse amount of powder into, then you can give a big brush a damn good swirl in it, tap to remove excess, and sweep all over the face willy nilly
That reminds me (I'm going to ramble here)... the other day I somehow managed to pick up a tub of very old MMU - it was second-hand when I got it 5 years ago - by Botany 101* minerals, shade "Glenda". There seemed to be hardly any left so I carelessly tipped it into my tub and swirled away, but I could see there was far too much on the brush and it wouldn't come out - but I was in a hurry so I swept it thickly over my face, talk about coverage
Anyway, the lady in Holland & Barrett, whom I do a bit of eBaying for occasionally and I've known for 20 years, said "You look great, your face looks lovely" - so it must have sunk in and made me flawless :rotfl:
*Botany 101 was sensational MMU but the 'maker' was rather eccentric and one had to wait ages for the goods - she was Cat F of Gun Barrell City, Texas, and she has since disappeared owing thousands of dollars (this is in the public domain). I only ever got hold of second-hand samples - shame, she had a magic recipe.

I've just ordered the sample kit and a couple of eyeshadows too. Total $9.60 and will have to wait to see what exchange rate I get on my credit card. A great deal and can't wait to get these.0
