Reserving Items....

Right I think im on a loss here but here goes

Basically I found out that a retailer was reducing something from £100ish to £30 in their sale.

I phoned around all the local ones and they have sold out. One staff told me in the 270ish stores they have about 150 of them. How ever I phoned one who said they have 4 in stock and the sale starts on thursday and cant sell them till then so I said ok I will be there 9am etc(tomorrow).

Last night I phoned them on the off chance they had got some more in stock as was going near that way to see my gf. They said they had 4 in stock and they were all reserved, so i questioned this saying i got told i couldnt reserve them etc. He said ok you were told wrong information I will put your name on one of them. I said where I was and I said I could come over that evening to pick it up and would put it out the back and just to ask the guy behind the till to go get it etc. I was one happy customer.

Went over there (30MINS OUT OF MY WAY) and asked the guy behind the counter that someone was put by for me etc. He said there is nothing under your name and sorry, try a different shop downstairs as they sell them (for the £100 ish price - who dont price match I found out!!!)

So im gonna write this company a moaning letter tonight (where I work all the customers complain etc)

Do I have anything to go with or not??

Cheers

Venkman

How would it work though as if they say they will agree to supplying me with one. Does that mean if there is none in stock they will give me a credit of £70 ish pounds for the difference?

I guess if there is none in stock they wont give you the difference amount but maybe credit to the amount of the item in the sale, I would accept that personally, but thats me.
