Advice on Wedding Bank account

Hi
I am getting married next year and wanted to set up a bank account to put my wedding pot into (have wonderful parents who are contributing!) Already have a savings account and basic current account (and a joint account), but wanted something completely seperate. Obviously want to get a good a interest rate as possible, however will not be putting in monthly just one lump sum at the beginning and taking out of there.
Could anyone suggest a good bank account to use. I notice that some current accounts have good rates, but need a mimimum deposit each month. However I wasn't sure if with savings if you would get instant access to your money (and I mean instant instant (rather than waiting to transfer it to your account before you can use it)
Advice would be most welcome

Hi
First Direct do a bonus e-saver account and you can dump a load of money in it and leave it and then withdraw at the end. You don't have to top it up each month either. Its only an online account though.

Go for an e-saver account which is linked to your joint account. It can be opened up easily online, and money transferred instantly to your current accoutn anytime of the day or night. Ok the interest isn't great but no where is at the moment. Maybe a savings account somewhere with a cashcard, but for this benefit you will forego some interest - at the end of the day, do you really need it that instantly? Wouldn't a cashback credit card work out better to spend on and then pay it off in full each month from your savings pot?0

If you don't already bank with them, I'd suggest the nationwide flex account.
Not as good as it used to be, but you will get a cheque book, debit card and it is still the cheapest way to spend money when overseas - so a good one for holidays for the longer term.
The rate of interest ain't great though - but you should be able to open a better savings account linked to it.
Otherwise I'd do as others have said - just have a linked savings account to one of your current accounts and do transfers when you need to pay a wedding bill.
Good luck
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

I am in the same situation, we have a few online savings accounts - AA saver, ING (previously a Kaupthing acc) and a couple of regular savings - basically to maximise interest rates. I haven't done much in the last few months as moving it as the best rates are not much above what I'm getting.0

Agreed - however the interest rate is worse than not great, they no longer pay any credit interest.0
