Electric Hob

My built-in ceramic hob keeps blowing and is clearly on the way out.
For its replacement, I've heard that induction hobs are now the best thing, although more expensive.
Does anyone have any experience of replacing built-in electric hobs, or any info about induction hobs, apart from you need a certain type of pan?

Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!
