Gulf Air long haul

Anyone had any recent experience of this airline?

It's cheap - is it also nasty?
Trying to keep it simple...;)

They are supposed to be a pretty decent full service airline.

The service won't be on par with the Far East Asian airlines (TG, CX, SQ spring to mind), but won't be as bad as the american airlines (AA, Delta, United).

  • Hello all.

I've just joined this site and am thrilled to be able to help already.

I flew with Gulf Air for the first time last week to Abu Dhabi and also had doubts about it. However, I found the plane, staff and service all to be brilliant. Not quite upto the standard of Emirates, but fine generally.

Flew Bangkok to Bahrain then Bahrain to London with them last year. Good airline - better than quantus flying out.
  • Gulf air are ok for long haul only problem is you always have to pop down so prolongs the journey

  • Far superior to Qantas.
  • We've never used them as their prices/route to the Midlands can't compete with Emirates/British Airways. However living in Bahrain I know plenty of people who work/have worked for them versus normal paying customers and it seems in the last few years they've got their act together.
