Electricity or Gas??

I currently use only Electricity in storage heaters, 3 bed detached house. Over the last 2 years I've used an ave 11900 units at night and 7800 units during the day on eco 7 tarrifs. My wife and I both work from home.
There is gas just outside.
Would it be worth installing the gas to do the central heating?? I hope someone can give me a reply.

I reckon you pay at least £1700 a year (at 6p and 13p per kwh).
We pay about £1500 a year for electricity and gas. That's for family of six in three bedroomed, Victorian (poorly insulated) mid terraced house on three floors.
We're high users - four teens, twenty plus kids using TV, x box, etc for hours a day, washing machine and dishwasher every day. We like the house warm too, although I try to be careful.
We paid £4500 for CH install last year. Wouldn't want to live in a house without it - reckon we'd be paying about the same or more all-electric but only if we just heated part of the house and used a lot less hot water.0 -
Thanx, we paid an ave of £1594 over the last 2 years (5.9 and 11.3). There are just the 2 of us except when rugrats are at home which is only for visits. Wash & dry 2x a week, dishwasher very seldom. Wife does bake a lot. 2 computers on 24/7.
I think the storage heaters use up a bundle of energy and we do switch on a bar heater in the evenings as the storage heaters have lost their oomph by then.
Cavity wall, loft ins & double glazed - yes.0
