Investment Competition

Options
A lot of people on here seem to have differing views on how to make money over many different areas

I suggest a competition to see who can get the best return on a fictitious initial pot of £100,000. anyone up for it? :D

I'm buying 150 oz of Gold Bullion (the rest on Mars Bars)

It would be much too complicated to manage. Would I have to post every time I made a "trade"? Or would we be stuck with the shares we chose at outset?

My strategy for a fictious portfolio would be to chuck the whole lot on a couple of bank shares and buy and sell as they do their normal wild fluctuations (eg Barclays this year roughly 185p to 50p to 116p to 61p to 121p). However I wouldn't fancy doing that with £100,000 of my own money!

I'll put the whole lot on the Tories to win the next election.

Current odds are 7/2, which i think would pay out a £28,570 profit if I win on a £100K bet (if I am wrong please advise as I don't really understand betting prices.)

With the next election due in June 2010 that's my bet - if it makes your timetable.

Do you mean the odds are 2/7 (odds on)? If so, then you would make £28,570.

If it's 7/2 then you would make £250,000 profit.

I will put money on Liverpool FC winning nothing this year. Or is that just wishful thinking? ;)

Cooksongold.com have a g8 range of bullion including sheet, wire, tube, solder, investment bars etc. G8 prices and a g8 time to buy gold. Can see these prices going down anytime soon!!! Perhaps even increasing further.:j :money:
