I just bought a new build one bedroom flat, with solar powered assisted heating for the hot water. Wondering which energy company would be best for this?

Use a comparison site. A company who is cheapest for one person may not be cheapest for others.0

I have had a look a a couple of comparison sites... but as no one has ever lived there before and currently I am using electric convection heaters, I can't fill in any of my current/past energy bills.
Was just wondering if anyone has solar panels really, and what provider they have found to be best.0 -
As BruceyBonus says "A company who is cheapest for one person may not be cheapest for others."...even if they both have solar power.
If you don't know your anticipated consumption, you may as well stay with the current provider until you can work out your anticipated consumption.
Otherwise "fryingpan" and "fire" spring to mind."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
You could still try switching to a cheaper tariff with your current supplier, e.g. an internet tariff that doesn't tie you in, switching to direct debit if a discount is offered, etc.0

I disagree with Premier. As you are electricity only (and have convector heaters) you should look around immediately for the company with the cheapest Tier 2 unit cost in your region. And switch.
Most tariffs' pricing is targeted at the national average dual fuel consumption figures - there are bargains to be had (and missed) for electricity only households (still won't compensate for the higher costs, but still...)
You should, as Premier suggests, check again once you know what your actual consumption is like.0
