Me and a friend have booked 2 nights in a travelodge in the centre of london for £64 for the two nights working out at a bargain £32 each! (beginning Sept)
Think the reason its so cheap is because weve booked so much in advance, but if you go on their website and click the "find our lowest price" tab and fill in from there.
It says some rooms are £19 but we only found one hotel offering this price on a date we didnt want, but otherwise there are loads of rooms less than £50 a night at travelodge's all over london!
Hope this helps

Try www.laterooms.com. They list chain, independent and boutique hotels, as well as apartment hotels. You can search by postcode, city or region. Most carry pictures, and you can check other users' reviews as well.
When you select your dates of intended stay, the site lists the rooms with day by day prices - so you can easily see if you could save money by shifting your travel a day either side.
I've used it a few times and find it really useful."I'm not a one-trick pony. I'm not a ten-trick pony. I'm a whole field of ponies - and they're all literally running towards this job."
