Natwest Closed Account

I moved from Natwest to Halifax about 2 years ago.
I have recently been harrassed by Natwest saying that I owe then £75 for an unauthorised overdraft & I should return any cards to them.

I returned my card to them 2 years ago with a letter stating that I wish to close the account, I wasn't aware of any money owed to them at the time.

Are they right to demand this money after all this time & why wait 2 years before asking for it ??.

They now say that if I don't pay then I will be charged interest and the cost of recovering said money.:mad:

What's the charge for? You say 'unauthorised overdraft', but how did you get into unauthorised o/d? Was it a recent transaction on the account? Had the account been left with a negative balance? You need to find out from Natwest what event triggered them to request this.
