Hope some one can help with this,
I have a Tv stand ( black Glass ) purchased 2 years ago from Tesco's i also purchased a Samsung 42" plasma,
I came in from work yesterday to find the tv on the floor ( held up by xbox WII dvd player etc wires ) and the stand has shattered, very fine peacies of glass got into all the electronic componants and into the carpet.
I have rang the insurance and explained the issue and they are sending out a loss adjuster.
My question is, can i claim for the glass getting into xbox dvd player etc ( although not tested yet i have no telly ) and also the carpet? the carpet is brand new with a very thick pile and i cannot get all the glass out.
More worring is the fact i have a 2 year old son who sits infront of the TV this would have killed him for sure, so do i have a claim againt Tesco?
Hope you can help

If you have cover, then all will be settled by your claim, though don't expect a new carpet - they will want to clean it.
Talk to your insurer about Tesco. If they feel they have any liability, then they will pursue them to reimburse them the cost of your claim.
It may be the stand is part of a faulty batch, so tesco may be interested to learn of the incident whatever their responsibilities to you/your insurer.0 -
I did mention this to the insurance and they advised me not to contact them as they will do it, in regards to the carpet a clean would be great as its brand new anyway.
i have looked online in regards to these stands and this is not common at all, im baffled at how this has happened0 -
When I said "clean" I meant clean the glass away, (as opposed to paying for a new carpet), this might be by vacuuming it clean!0

i spent around an hour last night with the small end of the Dyson trying to get it up, the carpet has a very thick pile, so it would have to be a strong hoover as its seems to be matted into it, i will wait and see what the loss adjuster says0
