Just to advise you that chickens are not classed as pets unfortunately and are classed as livestock.
We rent and are lucky enough to have a landlord who allows us to have any animal we wish without the need to consult him. We currently have dogs, cats, fish, chickens, geese and ducks. We rent a semi detached house which adjoins a defunct farm yard.
Maybe if you dont have any joy with this landlord you could consider contacting local farmers who now with the joys of machinery, rent out their workers cottages which they no longer use and are far more willing to allow tenants to have pets, livestock and other benefits.'' With regards to the avian flu, the chicken run is covered so the birds can't get to the food, I currently live in Warwickshire so would be good to know about the register as not heard of it before.0
