EDF kills self-read programme.

Options
When checking out Utility 'best buys' it probably pays to know that, effective 1st April 2009 - significant date? , EDF will kill its self-read programme. But, hey, they're giving us an alternative - Nectar Points (be still my heart).
From a quick read of their Ts & Cs the maximum value you can accrue is 4000 Nectar Points - and for most of us that's probably not achievable. This, at Sainsbury's current rate is worth about £20; by contrast my last year's self-read saving was £32. And then how much does it actually cost EDF to hand out those 4000 Nectar Points - not anywhere near £20 I'm pretty sure.
So, all in all a nice little saver for EDF and an effective increase for the consumer - and without any of the aggro attached to increasing the utility tariffs. These guys should be politicians.

Are the figures currently being shown on the switching sites including this change or not, do you know? TIA!

Have to say it's indicative of what's happening with the Big 6 nowadays. EVEN MORE confusion marketing/sneaky little tricks.
