How long to transfer £1000 thru faster payment?

I transferred £1000 from A&L to Halifax accounts, both operate FP. I have previously been doing this between A&L and first direct (up to £800) and its been going instantly!!

I need this payment to go through in at least 3 days to stop me going overdrawn

Thanks in advance

John

Faster Payments gets the payment to its destination in 2 hours or less.

It's possible though that A+L didn't use faster payments in this instance, and unfortunately with A+L it's impossible to tell if any particular payment used faster payments or not!

Even if FP isn't used, it will take 3 working days max to go through.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

    Thanks,

Just phoned A&L for the first time, was put off because of the horror stories, but I was put through to an advisor really quickly and they even offered to arrange for a higher paying savings account (their own of course, but I wouldn't expect them to give business away).

However, the payment didnt go as a FP, no reason given, I guess its part of their customer policy, really temped to go back to First Direct if it wasnt for 0% interest
