Suspcious Ebay buyer - Advice please!

Thanks everyone for your posts. I do have a Postage reciept, the item was a little over £36 but I'm not worried about the money as I said.
Yeah the fact that they have paid by paypal reassures me a little, that would be strange behaviour for someone simply wanting revenge, but there still seems enough coincidences for me to think there is more than meets the eye with this one.....Will keep you all updated....0 -
Whats the fuss? the guy has agreed to buy it from you, and has paid!
...I would worry though if he claims he hasn't received it through the post, and wants his money back.Profit=sanity
Turnover=vanity
Greed=inhumanity:dance:0 -
i hate this, when you dont get to know the outcome . op what happened!!!!!0

Well I would have to go with the OP initially here- (although recorded would have been my posting of choice) but what worries me is the other stories I have heard on from here (other posts) is the paypal fraud issue- when paypal email you to say that the payment you had was fraudulently paid and they are taking back the payment thankyou. Depending on how much I could lose, this would really worry me in a sale like this.0

If a seller chooses not to use recorded or special then yes of course they risk the paypal chargeback issue. It is a risk you take if you send stuff through the post without the correct postal service being used. In high end goods only use the correct postal method, otherwise if item gets lost you lose the paypal claim and your money as RM will only pay out up to £39 for loss if standard mail is used, and only then if the sender has a proof of postage.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. wow, what actualy happened at the car boot? supposedly it was a pleasant transaction whereby the seller agreed to sell the computer for £x? If the case, even if the car boot seller had seen it on ebay and was peeved that 'his' computer was being resold so decided to buy it back, he would have had to bid the price up to a point where regrets start to kick in: 'why didn't i just sell it on ebay - i'm going to get my revenge. I know, I'm going to scam, find out his postcode and then destroy his kneecaps: that will calm the beast inside me.'
This all seems really far fetched - but apologies if the car boot seller does prove to be a pyschopathic lunatic.

Maybe the person who bought the item had a saved search set up, including a "distance from" option....
Nothing too odd about that.0
