Help with printing document

I'm trying to print a document but nothing is happening. When looking at the printer properties it says that there is a document in the queue with its status as "deleting". But it won't delete and therefore my things that I need to print are behind it in the queue and won't print! I've tried right clicking on it and cancelling printing but this doesn't work.
Anyone able to help please or offer suggestions? Really frustrating!!!
