    I haven't done an awful lot of DFW things for myself of late, attending a concert last night, forgetting packed lunch today....etc. But wanted to share my pride in doing a DFW Small Thing for someone else.:D

    Yesterday I prepared a meal plan, freezer inventory and shopping list for my Mummy. It was quite shocking to see how much stuff we already have at home. We could eat for a fortnight just from the freezer. :eek:

    So, for the next four weeks I'm going to be doing the family shopping and proving to my mum that I can cut the grocery budget from its current £400 (for THREE of us!! Crikey, what's the woman buying, gold?!!!).

    If this works we may have another MSE convert! Wish me luck peeps. :D

  • hi All

    Andan - did you have any luck with the lettuces - two of mine are up? Well done with all the garden stuff by the way - sounds like you have been reallly busy.

    Pip's mum - meal planning does work - although it makes me grumpy!! Yeah am rocking back and forth a bit - loved seeing the river and trees - but the litter, the rubbish the people - ergh. (no offence lovely DFW's) but tbh I think I prefer splendid isolation and less litter.

    I also I talk to my seeds as well - told the clever peppers how clever they were to germinate whilst I was away and the other set (in the propagator as well) to get a wriggle on as I was getting bored waiting for them. Have quite a few flowers up - but no cucumbers or courgettes yet.

    Thinking maybe if I plant the rest of the squashes etc they might grow too - why they can't get on with it without my interfering with them (ie putting them into compost and a tray) is just lazy xx

    Changed my Egg direct debit from £110 to £200 per month which will allow me to close the account within the new 3 months - the outstanding balance was £2,300 less than a year ago, and should be gone by June!

    Also filed away my credit card bill - RBoS card now £1,800 and have changed the direct debit on that to pay an extra £100 over and above the minimum direct debits I've been making of late;

    Picked up a free paper from the top of the recycling bin tonight;

    Saving my £20 worth of HMV vouchers for a good weekend - going to see The Damned Utd and then having a wander through HMV for some treats (the vouchers were from Valued Opinions and Pigsback);

    Will be doing some cleaning tonight which isn't really money saving but it will heat me up and stop me from going on Ebay!
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
