Parents with ADHD Children - I am after some opinions on medicating please

My 5 year old son was diagnosed ADHD this week - and while I knew it was coming - it was still a shock to be 'diagnosed'. I was told it would be 2 more years before the diagnosis when I saw another doc and before they talked about Medication but having changed docs I never considered they would bring the diagnosis forward…

Although this hasn't quite crossed the line yet, we are not able to allow opinions on medication inline with the forum rules.
