Which Lawn feed do you find best

I've tended to feed my lawn with an organic spring feed, then treated with lawn sand in early summer and then fed with an organic autumn feed.

Today I ran out of feed part way through so am wondering which to buy this year.

We don't have any real weeds but there are lots of bare patches (probably due to the amount of golf which is played on it) and quite a lot of moss - I scarified out an entire bag full on Sunday - the bags which bark chips are delivered in wholesale:eek: and dumped off a lorry.

I can't solve the shade problem as it is caused by a neighbours house. Drainage doesn't seem too bad, lots of worm casts so I'm guessing soil is slightly acidic.

Which feeds have worked on your lawn?

    I just buy the cheapest.

I have just put moss killer down, and it seems to be killing the moss off, now got to rake it all out.

I have tonnes of moss on my small front lawn, it's next to my house wall which is south facing, so I guess its because of the clay soil.
I've never bothered about it, but unless I do something now, I'm not going to have anything apart from moss on the bit away from the house.
Is it worth raking it up and sowing more seed, or will it just come back. I don't want to use any chemicals on it as I have veggies growing next to it.

Do you think pelleted poultry manure would be ok - I have a sack load.

how often should you feed your lawn? do you just sprinkle the feed over the grass?
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.
  • I use ammonium sulphate - 1lb dissolved in 3 gallons of water for 15 sq feet of lawn, water in immediately. Apply every 3 weeks from spring to autumn.

I believe traditionally spring and autumn with a different feed for both (autumn is lower in Nitrogen I think as you want root growth not leaf growth then). I was reading today though that you only need to feed a lawn which is discoloured or not growing well.

I'm going to check the ph of my lawn before feeding to see if it needs liming rather than feeding. It definitely needs spiking as the ground is compacted by the foot fall.

Whilst looking at the lawn feeds today I found a product called 'Bounce Back' by Arthur Bower, see below:

Has anybody heard of or tired this? The area where our grass is at it's worst is where it is compacted from the children playing golf.
