Im confused as to why you have the pay your parents rent and buy your own food .... as for the contact lenses there is much cheaper solution glasses, it would be better to get 2 sets of glasses and scrap the lenses .. Image is everything but is it worth going bankrupt for?If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

I am going to try to cut down on food and/or buy the cheaper brands e.t.c just to save some extra cash.
Well I pay rent to live at home, includes most bills. I pay for my own food because what my parent's buy isn't much-barely even lasts a week.
I do have glasses but hate wearing them. I know I really should to save money but I've got so used to the freedom of contact lenses.

For what its worth i totally agree with you rgarding glasses. I used to have to wear glasses blind as a bat and BIG problems with contacts. Anyway, had my eyes done (best money ive ever spent) NOT saying you should do that at the mo BUT the psychologicial effects have been quite amazing-have lost LOADS of weight & just have much more confidence. I missed on SO much-my wedding & graduation days in a blur cos i didnt wear my glasses.Anyone that is lucky enough to not need glasses cant fully understand how s**t glasses actully are. Keep up the contacts. Good luck in your efforts to get clear- th people on the site are totally amazing and a never ending source of insparation.razorbladekisses wrote:I am going to try to cut down on food and/or buy the cheaper brands e.t.c just to save some extra cash.

forget going bankrupt dont consolidate dont go to paid debt managers try cccs or cab buy a telly argos you can get one for £60,00..keep paying your parents rent they may not mind but in reality you cant live rent free if you lived away you would have to pay rent so keep paying that tell them your in debt ,and they may help you sort it but if you borrow from them pay it back money is important to every one and if they bail you out you will not learn from it speaking from experiance, pay as much as you can knuckle down budget own brand food etc i clear lowest first i have some debt similar to you and once they went to debt collector interest stopped but dont worry about collectors there rare if you get taken to court fill out the forms put managable amount you can pay and stick to it or you will get visit from balliff all the best andrew0

Do you have PPI (payment ptotection insurance ) on any of the debts...it is very expensive and rarely pays out so cnacel it you have.
Unless you can persuade mum/dad to let you off/reduce your rent payments, there is not much you can reduce. Can you increase your earnings? part time evening work/overtime etc.
Have you defaulted on any of the debts or are you still apying the minimum payments?
Obviously any share cash should pay off the highest APRs first (presumably you know all the APRs etc.)EU tariff on agricultual product 12.2%
some dairy products 42.1% cloths 11.4%
EU Clinical Trials Directive stops medical advances0 -
I think you are right about the T.V. I should look into buying one instead of renting because that £36 could go towards paying off some debt.
If I ever borrow money from my Dad I do usually pay it back on pay day because if he's good enough to lend it to me then I should pay it back when I have the funds.
All of my debts except one I think have defaulted and are now with debt collectors. I've had one baliff visit and have 2 CCJs against me.
Nope, I don't have any PPI.
I do try to do any overtime that's available. I work Mon-Sat at the moment to try and get some extra money.
Thank you for all your advice again everyone, it's really appreciated *hugs*
