  • Yeah when i called abbey last year they laughed in my face( i couldn't believe it), i was only working part time then and wasnt self employed but even with my partners income they wouldnt do it.
I'm earning more now so is my partner but i dont think abbey would do it.

Yes housing association said that they have to instruct the valuation not me, i have to either choose one from their list or i can choose my own.
I supose i will just have to get the details from BS solutions and pass it on to them.
Corr i hope i dont have to pay another valuation fee!!

  • sorry i didn't mean to use jargon *sparkle*
so have you approaced your existign lender anyhow?

and how much is the valuation fee with the housing assocation?
  • If you are not in a hurry to get a mortgage offer, Northern Rock have some very competitive 2 year deals at the moment. Just steer clear of their stepped rates as you could catch a cold after the first year when the rate jumps considerably.

    :)

    Thanks Andrew.

To be honest with you, i have been looking into buying my other half of property for over a year now, so much has happened in between that time with regards to the remortgage. I just want to get it over and done with now, plus i just recieved a anual letter from housing association saying the rent is going up by £20 a month!!
Thats crazy  i know £20 isnt alot but its never risen that much  so i dont want to be paying anymore rent thats not necessary.

    Its ok :)

I havent i didnt think that they would do self cert? although more and more high street lenders are doing this now.

The housing association gave me a list of a few valuation companies one was as cheap as £90 and the most expensive was around £300 others were in between the two.

  • Thats good they gave you a list - I thought that you has to get 2 (one from lender for their purposes and one from the housing association to see how much they will sell share to you)

If you are looking for a hassle free, apply and forget about it, type of mortgage then BM Solutions are the way to go.

Are you going direct or via a broker?

    I'm going via a broker.

Regularsaver1- they didnt mention anything about two valuations but i will check that with them.
They will sell for the current market value, they dont try and make any money from it (although they will make about £22,000!!)

Just found out that the housing association wont except the valuation from BMidshire's.
Which means i will have to pay two valuations, my mortgage advisor has just called housing association to try and sort it out and see if they will waiver the fee. :rolleyes2
