I am currently about 7 days away from being connected to Sky Broadband but this means that I have no connection.
I have received the Sky wireless router but it says you shouldn't connect prior to your activation date.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can connect prior to my activation date.
I still have a cable modem from my NTL service if that is usable - I no longer have a cable connection though.
Please help - my wife is doing my nut because she can't access her emails, etc.

Dial-up via an analogue modem sounds like your only option at the moment at home, your cable modem is of no use, neither is the Sky router until your line has been activated.
What about local library/internet cafes for the odd connection?0 -
When my dad received his router from sky, his was active THEN (Even though the activation date was supposed to be 2 weeks later)
Wire it up and see if your lucky

Pop into your mobile providers shops and get a cheap and cheerful dongle and £10 credit. It'll serve as a handy backup for the moment your broadband goes up the creek as it will every 6 months or so

If it's just for picking up emails and basic stuff, depending on your Mobile tariff you could use that as a modem for a week or 2. (But make sure you have a 'DATA' plan or allowance before using it.)
I remember once, before i got a Unlimited Internet package on my mobile, i clocked up £400 in Data charges in a month!!! Bricked my self enough for an outhouse when the bill came through!!
