The account number does not need to match. That may be an internal account. what matters is the creditors name.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

ok she can't work her scanner ?! so i made her read the entire thing to me
to summarise:
it has name top left, their number and ref top right
re - acquired debt/account number - 0000000
debt outstanding - £000
then saying about you've ignored our previous attempts to contact blah blah
details passed to field agent blah will visit blah
if you want to discuss repayments blah

Right
According to companies house they are a small company (exempt from reports as too small) which was known as Marketing Initiatives Ltd (MIL). They changed their name in 2007. it seems they have got into debt collection.
One of the few references I can find to them on here is that they recently sent out a debt letter for £00.00?
the options are ignore it or send a "prove it" letter. That way at least she finds out what it is all about, but if the debt is actually for someone else with the same name, it inspires them to keep hassling her.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
ok well i think i remember seeing a letter removing rights of visit and i think the prove it letter might help put her mind at ease.
i just called her and she's calmed down a bit now. and says thanks to you!
:-) i say thanks too!!Nonny mouse and Proud!!

OK
here is a sorry from another OPmany years ago my wife hired a washer fromRadio Rentals!!!! Don't ask!!! eventually we were able to buy a new one, although we had had some financial probs in the intervening years. the account had been in arears by up to two months but whenthe ship came in we paid it up as best we understood. However, BoxClever as they now were were in a bit of a muddle themselves and failed several times to eitherexplain their billing or collect the off-hired machine, lost a payment (copy cheque supplied) and failed on several occasions to respond to written - faxed - messages detailing their mistakes
There are others about MIl buying up statute barred debts relating to accounts with radio rentals or Box clever. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
