Stanley toolbox spares

Does anyone know where to get a spare bit for my toolbox please?
It's the metal clip that holds the lid down, bit difficult to explain, its this style toolbox

and it's the bit of shaped rounded rod that goes over the lids catch and holds it down.
I bought the box from screwfix a couple of years ago and they can't help. I can't find a stanley manufacturer anywhere.

I'm sure it must be really easy, but I can't find one.

I doubt you'll find any spares for a toolbox as they are so cheap to buy in the first place. but from how you have explained it i would think that if you go to a model shop and get some thick piano wire and make your own using some pliers.

I think that those catches are called attache case or brief case catches. I have bought them in the past to put on boxes that I had made. However, I cannot remember where I got them from as it was a very long time ago. If you go to an independent ironmonger they will have books of stuff that they can order. Something similar to what you want will. I am sure, be found in the book.
