Mortgage protection insurance

Just looking for some quick advice about mortgage protection insurance. It's with Paymentshield and a joint one.
My fiance was made redundant and is currently on JSA.
Am I right in believing that we would be eligible for 50% of the payments, as it is a joint one?

if the policy was written with a 50/50 basis (which many joint ones are) then yes.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
