Car Insurance query

Can someone give me some advice please. I have had a company car for that last 3 years so haven't had my own insurance. The company owns the car and insures the car. I'm not even a named driver on the policy it - i'm just covered as a member of staff driving with the company's permission. I am now giving up my company car and want to get my own car. Do I have to give details of any claims with the company car? Does it count even though it wasn't my insurance/car? Also I had 3 years no claims before I changed to the company car. Is it lapsed now?
Any help appreciated.

You do need to declare any claims or accidents that YOU were involved with for the company car.
Your no claims bonus expires two years (Some companies eg Norwich Union) after the last policy in your name lapsed or was cancelled.
There are a few companies that will allow you three years no claims bonus in recoginition of your claim free driving (A assume it was) on the company car. To qualify for this they will require a senior person at the company / HR Dept to confirm something along the lines "We can confirm Mr X had the sole use of a company vehicle for business and pleausure use from 01/3/2006 until 01/0/2009 and during this time there were nil accidents or claims. (Check the wording with whoever you insure with as some companies require a different wording).
You may find it quicker to just ring a local broker up as they will know which companies will accept it0
