 Hi,
I recently bought a used car and the alloys were very kerbed so I went to a local tyre dealers to ask if they knew who refurbished alloys. They said they did and so I booked them in. I went to collect them and they said the lad who did them had moved on and so they shipped them out to do them but that they had been powdercoated etc so made out I had a better deal. A couple of weeks have passed and I have noticed the paint is changing colour (apparantly something to do with silicone) also I parked next to a type R like mine and my refurbed wheels are lighter (I asked for the same colour or darker if they could not match it exactly) and also when I cleaned the car I noticed they looked quite pitted on closer inspection. They never gave me an invoice for the work as the boss was not there when I collected the car (it cost me £180). Basically I have took the car back and showed the boss as I want them re-done - he thinks they look fine and is basically saying no and we are going to fall out over it. What can I do?
I was also told by someone that if alloys are powdercoated they are meant to stay off the car to harden for at least a week - mine were put on the same day - no one told me this.
