Im thinking that if neither IE7 nor 8 run now then I cant see it working at all until the problem is fixed
Click Start => Run and copy and paste the following line into the run box: regsvr32 urlmon.dll, press OK. Once it is copmpleted you will get this message DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded, repeat the above steps, but replace regsvr32 urlmon.dll with:- regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
- regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
- regsvr32 mshtml.dll
- regsvr32 browseui.dll
- regsvr32 jscript.dll
- regsvr32 vbscript.dll
- regsvr32 oleaut32.dll

1. Open Internet Explorer .
2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.:idea:0 -
