bathroom ceiling - standard or moisture resistant plasterboard?

As per title, we are going to be replacing our bathroom ceiling and I'm just wondering whether we should go for standard or moisture resistant board?

It will be professionally skimmed afterwards if that makes a difference.

    id advise Moist resistant plasterboard

there double the price of standard 12.5mm plasterboard but id use it as good practice,
just another point, before you skim the board make sure that the plasterer pvas it prior to any plaster going on.

i would use normal plasterboard for the ceiling and moisture resistant plasterboard for the walls.

You dont need to pva plasterboard

    Only pva bonding/existing walls

We use normal plasterboard in all bathrooms, any wet areas are tanked with either a wp1 bal shower kit or tanked with a membrane sheet

So long as the plasterboard is not being fitted in a wet area (above your bath or shower), I would just use standard plasterboard and seal it with watered down PVA. Once the wall is covered with a decent bathroom paint it shouldn't matter too much and will save you the cost.

    Hope this helps

MR plasterboard should be pvad and be slightly tacky when skimmed,to adhere to the plasterboard, there not the same make up as as standard plaster board
ive seen plaster come off in sheets over the years from mr boards that havn't been sealed, when they first came out nearly ten years ago the gypsum rep advised us to do it, so weve always done it as good practice
