I bought a new tv from laser in December 2007. It was £550. On October I paid £400 on the website. At the end of November I paid the remaining debt on the same website. No settlement figure was shown when i had finished, no balance and no payment successful. I thought this was strange and so checked back a couple of days later to check. I got the same screen. Assuming that meant I was okay I left it.
I noticed on a recent bank statement they have been taking around £40 from my account every month since. I phoned them. They have no record of my payment and neither do my bank. They now tell me I owe a further £250 and if I don't pay before mid April, it goes up to £500.
The annoying thing is I had the money to pay off well in advance of the final payment. I question the workings of their website.
Please.....anybody help here?

I don't think you have a leg to stand on to be honest, you can't just 'assume' that the payjment has gone through if you don't receive confirmation. Didn't you notice that the money hadn't left your bank account?
